I've had this Koll DuoGlide since 99. I was playing it today and thought, "my I think this guitar kicks major booty. I think I'll take some pics of it and post on the gear page". So here it is. Right now it has duncan phat cats in it, which I like a lot but may go with some WCR humbuckers as it's a pretty chimey guitar with it's alder/maple top body and mahogany neck. Very nice brazillian board, light weight and the bigsby holds tune great. Seeing as how I've had it six years, I guess the honeymoon is over and it's still one of my all time favorites and I've had, errr, more than my share.

Astounding. I love Saul's guitars, although I've only had a chance to see them, not hear them. However, if the fates are feeling kind, I may have my first soon. :dude

If it's not to be, I'll console myself by staring at all the Kolliciousness around these parts. Eventually, I want to order my own, but I want to get a good idea for the Saul's guitars actually feel/play like before I take the custom plunge.

But if you're gonna put some humbuckers in there, it just screams for the TV Jones experience. :)

<spoken to fiscally responsible spouse> You see honey? It's not for me I spend all this money on guitars. It's for....humanity. Now, humanity is really curious what WCR darkbursts would sound like in here so....

Standard Koll scale length, I think it's 24.625 or something (gibson standard).

thats the guitar that got me into my own koll obsession. in fact i wanted that on to sound like Zeppos other duo with Filtertrons & no bigsby.

the question i never asked - is that the on form sauls ad?

i was playing my tornado tonight - his guitars rawk.

    /i
p.s. zeppo - you just don't have enough guitars or amps (& we need some Gin this week)...

Just picked up two Kolls myself (with a plan to only keep one). Mr. Koll has been great and his stuff is absolutely impressive.

Tough decision as they are both great, but I can't keep both. Not sure which direction I will go. One is a Korina Tornado with hums and the other is a mahog Glide Jr. with Lollar P90s.

It would be really easy to keep both (except for the money part :D ). It has really been great to find Koll as I had not felt the overwhelming desire for any of the new stuff lately until I saw Koll's work. Quite happy with Suhr/Baker, but man, Kolls really do it for me as well.

Fun to have them for sure (and it will still be fun even with only one).

    Evan.

    Hi Zeppo,

That guitar looks cool! I especially like the broken pickguard, nice touch! Wow, man, that is a pre NOPO (North Portland) guitar! When they were really good! Remember my old shop out on Holgate? No heat, bad power, and a leaky roof? yeah, that was when it was good.:D
Time flies. Except when you are waiting for your guitar. Thanks to everyone who does.
The Mah W. Bah's black one looks good too.

Here are a few that I have completed recently:

[IMG][/IMG] Check out the cool top!
[IMG][/IMG] This one has a clear lucite pickguard.
[IMG][/IMG] Dark burst. (pickguard added later.)
    [IMG][/IMG] TVJonesMAGNATRON neck, Classic bridge.

cheers, thanks to all. I'm off to work on your guitar now..

    Hey, Saul...

I've been drooling over that goldtop Super Glide Almighty on your site for some time now...

I'm imagining that guitar, but with a 25-1/2" scale, and a solid rosewood neck with no position markers...

    Yum...! :dude :dude :dude

Thanks Dave! Do you mean this one?
    [IMG][/IMG]

I have a really cool gold top in the works. We are several months out, but I'll put some shots of it up as soon as there is something to look at.

Thanks, Santa's watching, I need to get back to it.

Yup. That be the one...! Put a BIG fat rosewood neck on it, and I'd be in heaven...!
