Thought I would share this to inform anyone else in the same boat.
I really wanted a Strymon Flint, and none in stock anywhere in Norway. I was referred by a kind, fellow TGP'er to two sites in Germany that had them. Both showed them as being in stock, but from experience...I sent email to each asking if it actually WAS in stock and only one had it.
I ordered, paid with PayPal (by the way, what is the time limit for complaints/refund if the sender never shipped?) and within a short time
the company sent me a tracking number and said I should have it within 5 days.
This is the fourth day, and just to see where it was I went to the dhl.com
as instructed by the sender. No tracking info...hmm...that was strange.
Tried various computations (leaving off the first, last, and then both letter designations) of the tracking but no information at all.
I contacted the seller, he said "it's in Norway, in Customs", but since I couldn't verify I became a little nervous about this.
So I called the local DHL here in Norway. After some minutes the person explained "Because DHL in Germany has been bought by the German post office, you have to go to your local post office web page, and track it there". I did, and confirmed it was in Customs.
SHEESH. I don't blame the sender at all, but man...Duetche Post Office is not a model of German Efficiency (tm) at all...at least as far as customer service. What moron decided to not even notify customers that they may have to track on their post office instead of DHL (and it was SENT via DHL!!) or better yet, link the two so it would still find it in DHL's tracking form?
Just a word of warning. Needless worry can be avoided.
