That burled maple has a really striking figure but I don't like how they turn out so dark at least in most pics. Out of these I like the spalted maple one the best but you've certainly posted a lot better looking examples in this thread too.

Awesome. The raw tone finish looks amazing. In fact, all of the finishes looks amazing.

Recently got back a repair from Kiesel.
A neck ding in my HH1x (the one featured at top of HH1 product page).
Happy to say the ding is gone.
I can still see where it was, but if what I can see had been smooth in the first place, I'd never have noticed it visually.
So...thanks, fellas.

Still puzzles me how three new guitars made it out the door with neck dings without being noticed, though.
And that doesn't even start to explain how my special run Vader 7 was built and shipped with multiple worn-through spots in the paint on the top bevels—and how the namesake and vice-president of the company refused to do anything about it and actually told me, "If you're not happy, you should just sell it at a small profit." Can you imagine?

(I can already see a line forming to buy it from me for more than a new one costs. What a brilliant idea—flipping used Carvins.)

Despite my many issues with the three Carvin/Kiesels I bought in 2015, the guitars were good enough that I wanted to keep them. So that says something.

That deep aquaburst DC600 is gorgeous. I really hope the top on my AM7 ends up looking as good.

How come Kiesel does not offer any binding options on fretboards? Some flamed maple binding with a rosewood or ebony fretboard would look pretty great.

I've visited the site looking at existing models for sale for about the last year, and having a build done, as some with the treated fret boards had really caught my eye. I even traded a couple emails with Izzy. Last Dec, I found a used one on the bay for a great price, and although it was not like one I would have liked with the treated fb and figured top, it has given me a chance to check out my first. Here's number 35 in my collection and one that I believe was at the 2014 NAMM show for the black limba wood. The prior owner had only played it about 10 hours when I got it so it's mint. A wonderful playing guitar that was instant love. Some guitars take some time to warm up to. Not this one. In my 52 years of playing guitars of all brands, I can be picky about the little things and this guitar has passed the test on every level. I just wanted to say great job Carvin/Kiesel.
