Straight in with Tele and Scumnico speaker.
Hey, Brad, I've been wanting to hear a clip of the Gries 5 AND I've been wanting to hear a clip of the Scumnico...
Thanks for posting 'em!
Nice meaty cleans.
Nice playing and really awesome tone/the alnico sounds really good/ can you compare it to other alnico's you have played
Well, that seals the deal for me... putting my order in on Monday am... I'm digging the blue-ish Tolex with the gold grill cloth. I guess that means if I ever wanted an extension cab, I'd probably have to buy one from Dave but that's cool he's the man.
Can you give some hints as to your settings? How high did you have to crank the volume/gain/mv for this tone? Spanky as all get out
This amp seems like it was made for a tele. I had been playing mine primarily with my strat and sg, but today I plugged in my tele and it was a perfect match. Keep 'em coming Brad!
Couldn't wait until Monday... just sent Dave an email with my order. I hope he checks mails on the weekends
great clip! Keep 'em coming! You are really doing a service here...more people deserve to hear this amp...
Gasp100, congrats on the new amp purchase!!!! I am sure you will love it!
I think it was: Volume--noon Gain--just barely cracked Master--4:00
The weird thing about this tone is that I set the treble and bass controls without looking at the amp, and after recording, I saw that the treble was almost turned off and the bass was cranked almost all the way up. I meant to do the opposite. But as it turns out, those settings kind of worked with that heavy finger-style, slapping the strings on the fretboard and such.
Good idea on the blue tolex and gold cloth---that's what I have.
About that Scumnico---it's really my favorite speaker now. Lots of detail in the mids.
The amp seems to offer a good base for different guitars and even different speakers. 8's 10's 12's if you so wish with the head version.
Then there's pedals and re-amping the recorded signal through an even
more powerful amp. Many possibilities
That's what makes this a very cool studio quality amp at a very reasonable
Best apart of this clip, I know I can get this quality of tone at any point...I love my Gries 5.....one of the most underrated imo....I have the combo....red and blonde
That sounds great, Brad. :AOK
The clip ended to soon Cool stuff.
Thanks for providing another clip. The playing & the tone sound good. I have a red with gold/black grill cloth on order. I can't wait to get it.
