I picked up the following out of a recycling event at work:

    1) A full, original Nintendo Entertainment System with six controllers.
    2) A Samsung Galaxy 2 Tab 10.1 in good condition.
    3) A unused Sony Portable DVD Player worth $140 new.

I'd say I made at least $150-200 today.

So you're going to sell them?

Also I am glad that this thread finds you in better spirits than the last thread.

I worked construction for many yrs. Nabbed some decent scores for free. Old cabinets, sinks, faucets, appliances, furniture, and some very nice lumber ( timbers as referred to in the UK )

The portable DVD player is going to be for car trips and for the kids. The Nintendo is going to get cleaned up and go in my collection of systems. The tablet, not sure yet.

And thanks, seeing that my wife is recovering nicely, I feel much less scorn and resentment.

The flip side of the coin...could be "oh, the things people will pick out of my garbage". Not sure about you guys, but we have "pickers" that come through on garbage day, ahead of the trash collectors, and pick through our trash. Something unsettling about multiple jalopies rolling through my neighborhood on a weekly basis.

Thanks to eBay, Craig's List, and Facebook Groups I don't throw anything of value away. That being said if people think they can make a living by going through my trash, more power to them.

I'm in property management, and do a lot of residential rentals. It's amazing the stuff people leave behind. They leave washers, dryers, furniture, microwaves, TVs, even a coin collection once.

That's cool. I don't throw anything away - I do give a tremendous amount of
used gear, appliances etc...to Goodwill or St Vincent De Pauls. With Musical gear
I more often give it away to friends than sell it - except for guitars and amps.
Computers go to the recycling bins at the County Recycler.

I know a fellow who picked up a 'Drip Edge' Twin Reverb from a local's roadside garbage!

One man's trash is another man's treasure. My sister picked up a mic stand and a Heil talk box that someone had set on the curb for trash. She gave them to me. Both were in good condition.

I hope you replaced the tube on the talk box.

I wouldn't worry about it, people only use a Heil Talk Box for three songs anyways... "Man In The Box", "Living On A Prayer" and "Do You Feel Like I Do". I can't imagine anyone would want to play all three of those and more than once, so I'm thinking it's been used one time previously.

LoL, you missed Rocky Mountain Way! How could you do that!

I used to always have a wah pedal, my buddy always had a talk box. If I got one I'd want to try do some of the old Sparky? stuff.
