Awww... you guys are too much :p

I am really happy to hear other people enjoying the benefits of this cable though. When I first started using it, I was like, umm... why aren't more people using this? Granted, it isn't exactly easy to find the BL "Connector Cable" page, how to order, and they don't market as well as they should...

I'd say, even if you prefer another cable for your own rig because of the different sonic characteristics (e.g. EA Monorail), the BL short plugs alone are worth heading to Bill's site to get.

    Glad people are diggin' them...

How about some pix? I love Bill and Becky and all the things they sell, but I gotta say, they have the worst website in the history of the internetz.

Don't need 90 degree connectors as the short plug is just a short as one half of the 90 degree type plugs, and the other is just the flexible cord bending - no worries about stress on the cable yet!

Yep, I might be able to get my board done now, hehehehe. If I have any leftovers, I'll sell 'em to you guys; I probably won't have many though.

I counted 38 needed just for my 8 loop Musicom configuration.

I'll try to get a diagram up, hehehe.

Edit: Just scanned this in, my chicken scratch from a few weeks ago. Sample layout and I numbered all the connectors. My board is gonna be 36" x 18".

Hey guys, I'm debating between these and the ELC kit. Can someone do some sort of rundown on how you put these things together? Pictures/videos would be really, really awesome.

    1) Cut the cable to desired length with a razor blade (or check out the $5 Planet Waves cable cutter, get a couple of those).

    2) Back the set screw out so the cable can be inserted freely.

    3) Push cable into connector slowly, evenly, but firmly.

    4) Tighten set screw with the provided allen wrench until it is even/smooth with the outside of the plug.

Do this for both ends, maybe 2-3 min. tops, and I would check the hot and ground for shorts/continuity with a meter just for peace of mind and you're done. And I bet you can't pull those plugs off with your bare hands no matter how hard you twist or tug.

Huh. I'm really considering going with this kit. It'd save me about 80 dollars or something..

    How does the cable sound?

Longtime fan here. I started using BL's solderless cables in the 80s. I still have a few cables that I made back then and they still work fine. I recently ordered some more cable and short plugs to set up my pedalboard. Couldn't be much easier.

Superb, much better than GL's that's for sure.

I A/B'd a 20' BL cable vs. a 20' GL before I commited to the BL stuff. Before that I was gonna use Canare and solder G&H connectors; this stuff blows my soldered Canare cable away.

Becky did tell me several weeks ago that they will be having a price increase sometime in early 2008???
