Okay to put smooth-cone 1965 Jensen C10N in blackface Vibrolux Reverb?

I have a 1966 Vibrolux Reverb which came to me without the original speakers, so I thought it would be fun to put a 10"+12" baffle in.

I already acquired a 1965 C12N and a 1965 C10N, but the C10N came out of a Leslie and has a smooth cone. Otherwise, the speaker is in great shape.

Is the smooth cone a problem? I noticed that the VRs seem to all have ribbed cones.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom!

There are no rules; if it sounds good then it is good. FWIW, JBL D120, K120, E120, EV SRO and EVM's are all smooth cones.

I doubt there's anybody who could tell any difference. I can just see it now - "Hey, is that a smooth cone C10N in that amp?"
and 12" and a 10" will probably sound great.

HAHAHAHA!!! Thank you for the solid guffaw :)

I thought I had read something somewhere about the smooth cones not breaking up properly, but couldn't find it again when I just went to find it.
