Anyone have any pics of old painted amps? It seems like painting your amp was more common in the 60's. This was originally a 1957 Gibson GA-20. It was painted in the mid 60's by my father-in-law who was in a rock cover band called Sweet Briar McCheese. I guess he didn't like the original brown color. The amp was brought back to original specs with all new caps and resistors and then improved upon by Andrew Cheshire in Ephrata. It now has a trem circuit and a standby switch. Today, it sounds more like a Fender Deluxe than a GA-20. I call it Captain America!
