I just looked at it again this morning, I think this was my favorite part:

"Of course, a coat hanger doesn't have a Monster Cable lifetime warranty, so if your coat hanger breaks, you'll have to go out and buy another coat hanger."

I think it's well known that ANY wire with enough thickness for the wattage of the amp will sound just as good for a speaker application. Coat hangers are pretty thick so they should sound awesome. There is no capacitance issue on a relatively short speaker cable. Lamp cord will sound fine for any speaker wire application so save those old power cords :)

Right. There's also a guy out there (several, actually) making speaker cable out of gigabit ethernet cable.

    I got curious.

For short runs, it sounds better than George L's.

I've finally agreed that cables can make a difference, but not nearly as much of a difference as the manufacturers of boutique cables will have you believe.

Oh great. Now the price of wire coat hangers will go through the roof. I guess my coat had better get used to just lying on the floor.

Burmese oxygen free old-mined copper coat hangers are by far the best in tone, period.

You can actually buy two wire shielded 12 or 14 gauge stuff at your local hardware store. And it's pretty cheap.
