Anyone have any experience with a Matchless Avalon 30 or a Splawn Streetrod? There is one each for sale in my town.

The jcm 2000 dsl is a great amp boosted on the clean channel or on the dirty, which I believe is based off of the 2203 circut. The clean/clean crunch with a distortion pedal as boost without reverb makes great classic rock tones, and the lead just plain works for 80's metal and blues when set lower gain. Not as impressed with the newer dsl's or any of the combo versions for that matter.

Why is it that so many guys who like 80s hard rock or metal dislike dirt pedals?

Budda Superdrive 18 or 30
Yep.

I'm currently in two cover bands that cover everything from Pink to Katy Perry, to Ozzy to G&R to Dwight Yoakam to CCR and everything in between.

I gig with Budda SD18 and have an SD30 as a backup.
These amps cover it all with no compromise on tone on any music style.
Excels at all of them.
