I'm making an alternate pedalboard for home use so I can store my main one at our rehearsal space. I wanted something simple but versatile. Right now, it consists of a Wah, FD2, Small Fry, TU-2 and RC-2 (for practice purposes).

I have one space on my board and wanted to use some modulation for flavor.

I had thought about a chorus pedal, or a phaser, but wanted something in between.

So instead I picked up a MIJ Boss Flanger. IMHO, you can get decent chorus tones with a flanger and some phaser-like tones as well. I've never been able to get anything but chorus out of chorus and phaser out of phaser. I like how tweekable the Boss BF-2 is and feel like it's a good medium to get alot of mod sounds in one package.

So if it's you, what do you go with - Chorus, Flanger or Phaser?

    BTW - POST 2000!!!!!

I have a Boss CE-20 thats pretty versitile. From a subtle thickening of the Digital Dimesion setting, to a standard boss chorus or the almost flange/phase sounds of the CE-1 setting.

That said, i'm probably gonna sell it because i'm pretty burned out on Chorus sounds and i'd like to explore the Vibe scene for a while.

CL, I had thought about a Chorus/Vibe pedal, but I can get a pretty cool leslie with a flanger.

Plus, hell, I haven't had a flanger in awhile anyway!

Digitech ex-7. Vibe. leslie, flanger, whammy. The whammy has an excellent detune for chorusy type things.

I don't really care for modulation other than a decent leslie sim - so I use an Arion SCH-1...

Phaser, definitely. Especially if it's one with plenty of control so it can do vibe and trem as well as normal phase.

I chose an Ibanez FL-9 flanger, BUT I have a one-pedal-10-effects ModFactor coming on thursday. Is that cheating?

Well it certainly wasn't the intend of my making this thread :crazy

I have enough room for one boss style (or smaller) pedal. A boss style would be tall enough to clear the pedal below it, which is a bonus.

I just wanted to see how many mod type tones folks are able to squeeze out of one pedal.

Edit: That's crybaby sized though. So I'd probably do a HBE Phsylocibe

if you want variety get the jack of all trades king of none- marshall regenerator.

i keep one on my little board. pretty good chorus, phase, flange, but the vibe is lacking... and only one space. hard adjust the knobs under the stage lights though...

Flanger - as you say, flanger can be made to ape a chorus. And phaser isn't really my thing, so there you have it.

This one will squeeze out pitch vibrato, in addition to flanger and chorus. :dude
