Is there a business that you recommend that would also test vintage tubes if one were to ship them in?

I did like TCTubes.com. I live in Minneapolis, they're located in St. Paul, they're younger couple that runs the shop out of their house, I actually stopped by in person and got some old RCA 12ax7's from them last year, great people. I think they drive all around the country to get the tubes, picking them from different places. Just bought an old 64' Vibroverb, so I might have to hit them up again to get some new tubes for that. But anyway, I highly recommend them.

Almost any business is fine to deal with when there are no issues. What separates the mediocre from the cream are what they're like when you have an issue. Years back, after ordering probably a score of NOS tubes from KCA, I finally got one bad (microphonic) one. Mike had its replacement out to me already the next day. I have never forgotten that. :)

Nice tubes. In my little Boogie Studio 22 I have a Blackburn Tech Tube E813CC in V1, 65 Mullard ECC83 LP in V2, GE 12AX7 LP in V3, GE 6201 in V4, and a nice set of JJ EL84's in V5 & V6 and it sounds goooot!

Does anyone know anyone that buys tubes in bulk. I have 105+/- tubes my friend has "collected" over the years that I need to unload to assist in covering medical bills.
I have them cataloged in an excel spread as best I can. Almost all are guitar related. I say almost all because there's a tube in there and I don't know what planet it came from. Searches have produced nothing on this tube. Any assistance greatly appreciated. I do not was to list or sell the individually I don't have that much time.

Close to Houston would be great!!!!!!!

Interesting list! You'd probably do better on them if you were willing to ship. For a local sale Craigslist may be your only option, or possibly Reverb.com with a notation that it's for local sale only. Possibly a local amp tech?

The list would be more interesting with information about condition (NOS, Used, suspected to be NOS or used, original boxes or not, whether any of the power tubes are matched, and how, etc). Also, a link to a few group shot photos showing tubes and boxes.

Shipping the "group" is not a problem. 90% are in boxes of some kind. 20% may be original.

From a European perspective I can wholeheartedly recommend hotrox UK, mark is a great guy to do business with and I've bought tubes, speakers and pedals from his shop.

I've always used Brent Jessee. He always has a great selection and they're easy to deal with.

Have used Brent Jessee (audiotubes), Mike K (KCA), and Brendon Biever (Tube World),
all with good results and good service.

Are there any Ebay specific sellers you think are legit and have experience with?

While I've had no experience with antique-tube-picker, I have reservations with the other two. Desireme1979 does not always i.d. tube origin properly, but her quality is exactly as described, and her service is excellent. Vivatubes routinely misrepresents used (and obviously worn) tubes as "NOS," without taking responsibility when notified, and does not correctly identify tube origin.

    Caveat emptor!

I removed vivatubes, I wouldn't want to have someone like that associated with a post of mine, and won't be ordering from them again. Thanks for the heads up!

I REMEMBER THAT THREAD, completely forgot it was vivatubes. What a joke. He was told about multiple tubes that were mislabeled and the OBVIOUSLY used tubes that were considered "NOS." That whole thing was a crap-show, can't believe I forgot it was viva. Thank you for pointing that out to me, my memory fails me at times!
