Hello everyone. I would love to try 4 guitars thru sweetwater but I feel weird doing so. My intention is to try them all and send back two and keep two. Am I wrong in feeling like this? Anyone help with this? Thank you. BTW, I love SW and have used them many times so I want to stay with them.

    Why stop at four?
Order a dozen and add some amps to your order.

    Feel guilty?

For what, using a service they offer? If you weren't planning on buying but just wanted to play them, I could see feeling guilty for that, but you are planning on buying.

Your scenario is the reason they have this policy. You are on the hook for return shipping costs?

That's alot of candy, good call.

Now more than ever they probably need the sales, and we need more discounted demo models.

They offer this so why not. Our local store offers a 7 day return if you decide to change your mind and many take advantage of it. It's their business model and they know a certain amount will be returned.

Tell the sales rep what you are doing and report back to us what he says.

I doubt they’d like you much if they figure out your game.

With the way the economy is going, you could wait a few months and buy all 4 of those for what you'll pay SW new.

I think it's sketchy. But if you clear it through your SW sales engineer I guess it would be OK.

Normally I'm not a fan of this, but things the way they are right now it makes sense. It isn't like you can walk in and demo them.

maybe let your sweetwater guy know and see what he/she has to say. They will likely say "go for it", in which case you can proceed without guilt.

Yup, nothing at all wrong with being upfront and honest. Not being upfront and honest about it? That doesn’t say anything good about a person.

No, that isn’t why they have this policy. They have the policy to encourage the purchase by providing assurance that one can return it if they aren’t satisfied. Abusing policies like this is why places put more and more strict return policies in place.

To the OP, start by ordering the ONE guitar you think you’ll like best. Then go from there and add a second, etc. DO NOT buy four with the intention of sending back two. You feel weird about this and created the thread because you know it’s wrong. Listen to your own conscience.

    How do you know this?

Do you work for SW in their admin? If not, I would say you are speculating just like I am.

OP, if you want the straight scoop, call up your sales rep and ask him/her. Pitch this exact scenario and see what they say. Please report back so we will all know the answer.

Hey relax I asked a question based on my conscience. I did not know it was right or wrong, it was simply a question. No need to get upset. I actually thought it was a great question.
