Original funk tune recorded for my production minor.

Let me know what you think of the production more than the music. Though comments are welcome on both areas!

Oh and I bet you can't spot the audio edit! No click either!

What do you mean by 2nd line? Not a phrase I've heard before..

A New Orleans type of groove (as in Mardi Gras) ...
based on marching band snare techniques

    Edit at 4:27?

    Sounds fine, here.
Is there a vocal to add? It is a bit flat, dynamically/arrangement-wise i.e. lacks drama.
Guitar is over compressed on lead bits.

Yeah it's kinda a bit of that and a bit of the purdie 16th note shuffle.
Thanks though! comments are much appreciated.

Very perceptive. It's only really noticeable from the change in bass volume. Might automate it up a bit to diminish that.

Cheers, nah no vocal. Was just a production exercise and it had to be original or arranged material.

I know what you mean, it's just a simple tune so wasn't really trying to do anything special and wanted to keep it simple. Was only the 3rd take also, didn't have a whole lot of time!

Theres only a bit of a UAD 1176 on there and even then not very much, I'll probably bring it up a little more for the lead parts though. Was tracked with my Tom Anderson (neck and add bridge on the m's) direct to my classic 30 with a heil PR30 into a saffire pro26.
