Hello,
I am looking for a decent keyboard that is not going to break the bank but is not going to sound like a toy either. I would like it to be able to model multiple instuments, have a decent amount of rythem drum sequences with adjustabe tempo and capable of recording to I can play over. Not looking to spend more then $200-$300. Any suggestions?

A used Yamaha MO6 for maybe around 400-500? Under 300 is a hard price point to stay under and still have decent tones.

anything else in the low range?

At that price you're probably not going to find much that sounds good, never mind has the workstation features you seem to be looking for. If you're just using it for home demo work you're probably better off getting a cheap used controller--an M-audio or some such--and an old use decent sound module like a Roland JV-1010. You could probably buy the sound module and the controller used for something like $300 bucks. Then get a midi interface for your computer and some DAW software to do the midi programming w/ the computer instead of in a keybaord based workstation.

What about a Kurzweil K2000? tThese were the shiznit back in the 90s as far as full function, great sounding 'boards and had a sampling option too. I see these in the $200-$400 range on CL and I still like and use mine. You'd need a sequencer to record, though. Another great, older keyboard is the Roland JV1080 series (D-60, D-80, JV1080 module)and those are cheep!!

Obviously, my keyboard knowledge stops around 1999... :)

The Kurzweil K2000 has great sounds - very musical sounding, which most synths ARE NOT.
