Other OD pedals as organic/amp-like as the Xotic Sl drive?

Anyone discovered any other OD pedals that have that organic/amp-like quality of the SL Drive? Any type of OD, not necessarily marshal style. I have quite a few pedals, and nothing seems to come close. As much as I've loved the BB in the past, I think it could learn a few things from the SL drive. I'd love to see a revised BB that has the organic quality of the SL. Also, please refrain from posting recommendations if you haven't actually played the SL Drive. Thanks in advance for your responses.

I don't think I've ever come across a pedal quite as close to an amp circuit as this guy.

Great pedal, just as organic as they say, incredibly usable pedal. I will say, it is very British sounding, not in a bad way, but I personally wouldn't use this pedal as my main source of drive.

I do also like the BB as well, the notched EQ knobs really do that circuit a huge tone shaping favor. Both excellent pedals, Xotic stuff is always spot on!

Same here. The British sound isn't really my thing either, which is why I'd love to see an improved BB that has some of the organic qualities of the SL. When I go from the SL to the BB, the BB sounds kind of blah, and lifeless.

There is the BB preamp comp. it has a toggle switch so you can switch the compression on and off.

IMO, the stock BB is the sweetest sounding. I had the Mid Boost version and didn't care for it at all. I'm also not a fan of compression, which takes things in the exact opposite direction of what I'd want. Judging by their new line of pedals, the best BB is yet to be built.

I'll add the 1/2 Gainer to the mix as well. If you can turn your amp up some it's even better...phenomenal actually.

As far as the CDD, that fits the bill too.

For "that" sound, the RambleFX Marvel Drive kills the SL. I have both of them. Trust me.

Ditto on the Barber CDD. I had them both and much preferred the Barber.

Thanks so much for the responses. I'll also add that I don't have the SL internal switches set up like any of the recommended settings. I don't remember how I set it up, but I set it so it was warmer than the settings they show in the manual..........probably has something to do with the fact that I play single coils only. If I had it set up they way they recommend, I wouldn't like the pedal as much.

I think the Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop is really organic sounding. Highly underrated pedal IMO.

Lovepedal's Amp11 is probably the most "amp-like" OD I have ever played. It essentially becomes channel 2 and 3 of whatever amp you are playing. With a clean Fender amp you hear the Fender qualities shine through, but you get some very nice dirt sounds. I think if you are loving the SL, then give the Amp11 a run... I liked it better than the SL, plus the newer ones have the independent CoT boost which just adds to it's awesomeness.

I had a Menatone KOTB 5k that I like better than the SL Drive.

Got my Lightspeed yesterday. I'm one happy camper right now! Amazing pedal! Thanks so much for bringing it to my attention! I'll definitely be getting The Southland as well for a bit more gain.........though I want all his pedals! This could be a real detriment to my bank account!!!
