Out of all the amps you've owned and played though, what was the BEST overall amp

I would have to say the Soldano Hot Rod 50 Plus is the best all around amp I have ever played. I think the JMP Marshall 1959 Super Leads were the best for their time.

early silver back bogner shiva combo. but, stopped gigging with it = too heavy to lug around. however, when it was played it was very "authoritative".

Bruno Cowtipper 22. Close seconds would be a Siegmund Midnight Special and a Fender Princeton Reverb II (criminally under-rated amp).

When it comes to a more Marshall-flavored tone I would go with either an Aiken Intruder or Tomcat

Tony Bruno Underground 30 with 3-knob reverb and Tony Bruno Cowtipper 35. A true "hi fidelity" audio experience..."staggeringly great tone". After that...Louis Electric Deltone (blackface Deluxe Reverb circuit) which is absolutely killer...and built like a tank.

My Fender Deluxe Reverb. It took me a long time to realize that's the tone I need to have. Now that I have it, it's never leaving my side.

If you don't need those funds for something else important, then DON'T SELL IT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I regret selling my Mesa ElectraDyne, and the BadCat CubIIIr combo I got for it -but alas, it is what it is!!!

My best all around amp, HAS to be:

Fender HotRod Deluxe (gorgeous cleans, super loud, somewhat portable, reliable)
    or
BOSS Katana (can do anything, definitely loud enough for anything but sounds great down way way low, not to mention the cornucopia of world-class effects!)

I had the good fortune to play through everything from the Fender 5E3 Deluxe, Fender Twin Reverb, Hiwatt DR103 and others during my gigging days in the 70s. However, it’s hard to top a cranked Reinhardt 18 or a Marshall 1974X.

I need to really dig into an 18W again. I did really like my 1974X.

I owned a Fryertte era VHT Pittbull 50 2x12 combo that was was over the top awesome. I sold it because it was as heavy as you would imagine it was.

    So I sold it.

The more I learn about how to use my gear properly the more I regret selling it.

I also had a chance to play a two-rock in a store was pretty damn blown away.

Yeah it’s not going anywhere. I still play through it, just not nearly as often as my other amps. It’s appreciated at least $1k over what I paid for it. It’s an incredible amp that makes me feel very fortunate every time I plug in. Thankful to own it and not planning to sell any time soon. Hopefully I’ll pass it on to one of my boys.
