This discussion on Bon Jovi’s “seen a million faces...rocked them all”

Kinda sums up how I feel about the mythical “blowing off stage”. Break it down.

Thanks, I've suspected that for a long time even though I didn't know the inner workings, as they're laid out here, until reading them.

That's a great conversation. The song invites all sorts of similarly inquiries. Sometimes you tell the day by the bottle that you drink? Sometimes when you're alone, all you do is think? Jon Bon Jovi's a cowboy?

Not at all. I don't mind mordant humor, but not at the expense of a guitarist whom I respect so much.

All of which was to the chagrin of Michael Anthony, who by all accounts was (and is) a pretty straight-ahead guy..."R&R lifestyle" can get old pretty quick when you're not predisposed to all that crap.

Super Glue gets me through the winter. I couldn't sleep the other night because of a painful crack on my left hand index finger, at the nail; the glue closed it and quickly relieved the pain. It's miraculous.

Jagger, of course. He's such a control freak.

Some of Jimmy's issues weren't fabricated. He was/is into Aleister Crowley, and he did have a substance problem.

If you're strung out, you'll chug Jack Daniels.

That was actually written in the short Zep bio that was in the Led Zeppelin II music book way back then.

My favorite universal myth: that having the same exact rig/setup/guitar as someone will make you sound just like them.

This myth sells a lot of gear! lol

EVH used to boil his strings. I always wondered about that when I read it in ‘82.

I always liked the SRV one where he cut Albert King a check for 100k for stealing his licks. That could be true for all I know though...

Frank Zappa was the son of Mr. Green Jeans from Captain Kangaroo (presumably because of the tune "Son of Mr. Green Genes")

I would be amazed if SRV ever had that kind of cash at one time to cut such a check.
