Have a Blackstar HT100 that I use a TS9DX through a Mesa cab. Sounds great, but now I have recently purchased a carpet era Carvin X100b that I run through my 1984 Marshall JCM800 lead cab. The amp is killer and I hear that it takes pedals really well.
I really love Steve Vai's overdrive tones, and believe he used the TS9DX with the Keeley flexi 4x2 mod, as did John Petrucci, another absolute favorite. John now plays the Keeley Red Dirt pedal.
Right now I'm stuck between having Keeley mod my TS9DX or buying a Red Dirt.
What do you gear junkies think?
