Which pedals are great pairs? Which only sound good on their own and not stacked? Which do both? I really love my OD3 tubescreamer combo

My Timmy and Keeley modded tube screamer stack very well. And of course the EP booster, which isn't really an overdrive, is designed to be stacked. Interestingly, although the Skreddy instructions say that the Screwdriver Deluxe is not meant to be stacked, I find it stacks quite well with up to one other pedal, especially when used with single coils.

I find the Spaceman Aphelion to be a great circuit for stacking dirt despite being incredibly underwhelming on its own imo

I really like my Green Rhino stacked with either my amp's natural overdrive, or with fuzz. I have a Big Muff incoming; I've heard those pedals play well with TS-style OD.

My Keeley Red Dirt stacks really well with several foundation drives as a lead boost. The Hermida Zendrive stacks really well with the ones the Keeley doesn't it seems, with a much darker but incredibly smooth and well sustaining boost. My favorite foundation drives to stack with others are the Rockett Blue Note, Analogman Prince of Tone and the JHS Morning Glory.

Both sound great on their own too.

I thought the HBOD stacked well with everything. It was great before a Model H and various Muffs I had (Muskett, SUF, Iron Bell, custom CW Muff). It was also really nice after my Analogman TS.

Two new favs of mine are the MXR CBMOD and the Sparkle Drive MOD. Using both of them to boost my Marvel Drive. Using the MXR for a late 70's, early 80's driven Marshall kinda thing, and I'm using the Sparkle Drive in the "2" position for the more violin-like tones.

Two of my all-time favorites are:

OD9 silver (or other TS) > Red Snapper
    Timmy > Honeybee
