As a Fractal Audio owner, you get used to paradigm shifting changes when Cliff gets an epiphany.

Kevin at OwnHammer has been working his butt off on some epiphanies of his own for some time; the results of are somewhat showcased here.

I've been working with this and feel - honestly - this is a real honest paradigm shift here. IR's have been the key to good tones since the beginning, I've been a believer in that and have said it a thousand times. The key is the IR. I've shared ways that I work with existing IR's extensively. These new processes and approaches by Kevin are some of the best and more importantly more accurate and usable right out of the box.

Recorded direct via USB. PRS Custom 22, Fractal Axe-FX II, Bogner Red amp model, Cab block, reverb block. ZERO pre or post processing.

And more dynamics exhibited, lower gain. Same setup but with a Division13 CJ amp model (new IR only on this clip):

The OH sounds much better across the board than the RW IMHO. The low end resonance in the OH is very realistic. I'm guessing some type of reactive processing unique to the AxeFX...

Added a lower gain, more dynamic example using the Division13 CJ amp model. NO PEQ, no nothing but amp, cab, reverb. Recorded 100% direct. NO pre-or-post processing. Please listen to the FLAC download (link is on the SoundCloud site) for critical reference level audio.

Scott, much more open and clear. How do the beta IR's sound through FRFR - much more like a live cab? Since I started shooting my own IR's and TM's I find the stock IR's to sound like the RW in your clip - thick and boxy.

Looking forward to some insight on what OH is doing with these.

My RCF is very flat and accurate so it sounds very close to the source material.

Wow. Noticeable difference indeed. Can't wait. Those clips sound much more "alive" and present in direct comparison to the other clips.
