So I’m trying out some of my dads pedals while house sitting and this happens. I was running a Koko boost into the new Bogner blue mini and this was a glorious sound especially for mids during a lead boost. After a few hours I decided to switch out the Koko boost for a Keeley Oxblood Ge to see how that would sound boosting the blue. Well that was a mistake because now the blue mini won’t make a sound. Nothing! I didn’t change anything but that one pedal. I then tried plugging the blue direct into my amp so guitar pedal amp and still nothing. Anyone have an idea of what happened? Is there something about the Oxblood that would kill the Bogner Blue mini? What the hell am I supposed to tell my dad when they get back. “Hi how was your trip? Oh I killed your new Bogner Blue mini”. I fell horrible now. If anyone knows the inner workings of the Keeley Oxblood Ge and why it would cause me such grief I would appreciate very much. I figured I’d ask here before I try to go to the big guy. Assuming he’s a little busy for my little problem. Although it’s a big problem to me because I’m cursed or something.

I doubt the Oxblood had anything to do with it. What did you power it with?

I certainly wouldn't compound the issue by trying to "fix" the pedal and ruin any warranty their might be.

Leave it alone and take your lumps.

I h
Relax... The Oxblood did not kill the mini.
How is it the Bogner mini powered? is it getting power?
I had the Bogner powered by its own one spot adapter meaning not in a daisy. The Oxblood was in a daisy using a one spot. Separate obviously from the Bogner. I had 6 pedals hooked up so I had to use the one adapter all by itself for the Bogner. I had been switching pedals out in the boost position for 2 days with zero problems. The second the Oxblood was plugged in the Bogner sound was like the volume on less than 1. Also strange sounding like that telephone effect you use in vocals. Sorry that’s the one way I can think to describe it. I’m not going to try an fix it but I was hoping to have a good explanation for him at least haha. This has never happened to me and I’ve been using pedals with OneSpot for years. Could something have shorted when I plugged in the Oxblood? Maybe because the Bogner wasn’t in the chain?

I responded to your question above. Maybe my explanation can help you see where something went wrong. Thanks

Someone gonna get an old fashioned ass whoopin'.

Stick it all back the way he left and claim to know nothin.
Lol I’m 47 I haven’t had an ass whipping since I was 7. I’m screwed because he knows I’m trying out his gear. That’s how he talked me into house sitting. If you saw my dads gear collection I bet 80% of TGP would house sit too haha. I could get away with it but the Blue is new and he said he digs it unfortunately I did as well.

Well, it doesn't really sound like you did anything wrong so I'm sure he'll go easy on you.

Both pedals are center negative 9V. You used the product the way it is designed to be used.

Have you tried using the other power supply with the Bogner mini blue?

Try pressing the switch repeatedly and inserting and removing cables (including power) a few times to make sure it isn’t something mechanical.

Good luck.

I would think the appropriate response would to be just tell him the truth and offer to replace or have the pedal repaired. It's just a pedal, not an expensive or irreplaceable item.

Exactly, except I would immediately order a replacement, and keep the broken one and handle getting it repaired myself...then keep it. Unfortunately your dad's pedal broke on your watch, and even though you did nothing wrong, you're 47 and it's your turn to take care of him.

Have you removed the oxblood and verified the bogner is bad? Have you tried just the oxblood into amp? Try to really isolate the problem and better solutions can be presented.
