Yeah, I'm excited. I need to get some heat shrink still, and practice my soldering skills. ;)

Very true. I’ve always just used my guitar’s volume pot for swells anyway.

Heat shrink covers all sorts of soldering transgressions...that and it's so fun to use!

I’ve rocked 25’ Mogami pro’s for years, both guitar-pedalboard & pedalboard-amp with no adverse affects. I do keep a buffer (Goodwood Interfacer) first in line though

Heck yeah it's applicable! Killer board. Lots of tools in a small space. I dig it.

I have a few of those as well... A few friends have told me you can walk into a Guitar Center with a used Mogami Pro and ask for a brand new one and they'll exchange your old one for a new one at no charge. Haven't tried it myself yet.

If anyone would just really like to have a KOT in the Helix, try this:

    Brit Plexi Brt / 4.5 / 1.0 / 5.0 / 1.0 / 10.0 / 6.5
    Parametric EQ / 10kHz @ 0.1 -6.0 dB

These settings correspond to KOT with the volume and gain at 1230 1230 and tone at 130. It won't exactly translate throughout the range of the other settings, but it will mostly translate in terms of gain. If you'd like to stack the KOT together, well, I'm still working on that...

(If you have specific settings you're set on, just let me know.)

So you're running the Plexi preamp block in front of another amp?

On a road trip to see family. Going through Minneapolis tomorrow so I’m making a stop at Alclair to (finally) get some custom IEMs made!

Yep - the KOT is basically a blues-breaker. Blues-breakers are deisgned to sound like a Marshall blues-breaker amp, so running a Plexi preamp gives you the same sort of effect.

The same way you can substitute the JHS Superbolt with a Supro pre-amp (same idea... the superbolt was designed to sound like a Supro amp...)

You have to play around with the tonestack to get it to align with the pedals (and possibly add EQ, like @Matticus suggested above). And you may have to re-eq as you move through gain range (when compared to the pedal)

Same thing for Monster Cables. I’ve exchanged a handful of old cables at GC without any issue whatsoever. Great warranty service for sure.

Yes. I'm treating it like an amp-in-a-box overdrive, which requires a bit of DSP.

Yup! Working at a church I have some spares that get abused - when they fail (which is rare!) it’s an easy swap.
