Panther to El Capistan?

Currently have a jhs panther, it's a great analog delay, in fact it's my first. Thinking about switching it out a strymon el cap. I think it'd be much for versatile, better for swells, and if I got a favorite switch I could have two different settings. I'm afraid I'm gonna miss that modulated warm analogy goodness, so I'm wondering can the el cap nearly cop the analog delay sound. Granted it's a tape delay but it's pretty versatile right?

i'd say go for it. Even though the El Cap is based on a tape delay i know alot of guys who prefer it for ambient noises... super tweakable too.

the strymon Brigadier is modeled after analog delays... it's less popular, but it might be another good option

Yeah, if you really enjoy the panther I'd say get the brigadier, you can use fav switch with that one too

Never played a panther. But I love my el cap. Get yourself a favorite switch and you'll never go back.

keep the Panther. add the Strymon if you like but they're not a replacement for a true analog delay.

Strymon has Brigadier, which supposed to have analog delay model. In my experience, El Cap can not sound as analog delay, and it's definitely not the best idea to buy tape delay modeler to simulate analog delay (especially if you can buy analog delay modeler from the same company). I would not say, that analog and tape are opposite things, but different enough.
