I just picked up a Dredgetone Angler OD from eBay for $53. Other than not working on battery power, this is one of the best OD pedals I have ever played. It is right up there with my non-LED Hotcake and the BJF Honey Bee. Mine is the bass version, but sounds great with guitar.

So let's discuss little known boutique tone on the cheap. What pedals do you look for in a pawn shop or the used/vintage corner of a music store? what do you search for on eBay? Let's say under $150.

WEM dominator amp for 10 GBP
    VOX AC30 for 20 GBP
WEM copycat with 4 spare tapes for 7 GBP!!!

Not quite boutique but a day to the Redcar racecourse car boot sale I will never forget.

Got an 80s TS9 for 5 pounds from a shop where the guy wanted to get rid of it because it was the "worst distortion pedal he had ever heard...."

And as a post scriptum(a little off topic): bought a really old out of tune piano for 50GBP, reconditioned it but couldn't get more than 150 for it, took the material off the back to see what was floating around and found a Mccoy wah and postcards and stamps from the 1st world war that I managed to sell for a nice price.

That's it, can't think of any more.

I found a toadworks john bull for $50 or so.... tried it out and figured it wasn't even worth the $50.

I did however get an early original maestro fuzztone for $70 and a HK Rotosphere for $50. Both were on ebay later that day.

I found a DOD Gonkulator at a local shop once for $20. Turned around a sold it for $200. It wasn' boutique tone though. It sounded like poo. I really don't look for anything in perticular. I usually just look for good deals.Even if i's something I wouldn't use I'll buy and sell it.

That's a very cool find! Congrats! i don't think the builder made them very long ( two or three years? ) and then just shut down the production even though they were very well regarded.

I bought an 80's Electro-Harmonix Big Muff in a pawn shop for $25.

My buddy at the place I used to work gave me an Oberheim Phasor pedal from the '70s and a Big Muff Cryin' Tone Wah. I re-did the wah and put the Phasor on my home board. I've seen the wah go for 200+. The Phasor is pretty rare- I've only seen them in Japan.

Boss DM2 for $60, sold it for $100 a week later, just before prices went through the roof.

Hagstrom Futurama for $50, sold it for $250 a week later, found a nearby shop asking $1000 for one.
