It sounds great, but is really more a piece of art than anything you'd keep on a board.

I'm glad I bought one, and I'll probably buy whatever else comes out of his Tarpitlab. :)

M-tone makes fantastic guitars as well.

Another vote for cool work of art. Steampunk meets deco - I like the design a lot. This being said, the proof is in the tonz.

Any design from the 60s through 80s can get one resistor changed, a weird name and fancy paint job. A lot of TGP will still be all over it.

Have you heard the new Chartreuse Okapi OverFuzz? It is so transparent that you can't tell it is on yet it still adds haunting mids, smooth highs and tight bass with a drive that is clear but fuzzy but articulate but thick! But it never alters your tone!

Very cool! M Tone page has no purchase or pricing info, so I'm assuming they all sold out already.

As PT Barnum famously said, There's an audiophile born every minute.

Looks pretty cool to me. I would't probably get one just coz i am not a pedal guy and I already have a Sunface.

Try as I might I couldn't find pricing. What did the Thermal go for new?

    $475

Based on some postings by Matt of M-tone, they probably lost money on them when parts and labor are considered.

That's not much more than a Jan-ray and clearly has a lot more labor involved.

Well, if you're lucky, you'll have a chance to buy them for three times the original price on Reverb.

what does this possibly have in common with that pedal? One is a functional work of art, the other an audiophile trap .

    Define "too far".

If he sells all 25, the answer is decidedly no, this trend has obviously not gone too far.
