I've only owned mine for about 7 or 8 months...Anybody want to share their favourite EQ settings on the clean and dirty channels?

Clean channel volume at noon, and all controls at noon with a humbucker guitar. That used to be my blues-gigging rig. Just plugged straight into the amp. Great tone and a very underrated amp. I think I bought it for $150 like 5 years ago.

    Oh, and boost *ALWAYS* on.

I never cared for the dirty channel.

Cool! What did you like to use through the clean channel for distortion, extra dirt etc...?

Tube Screamer-ish pedals always sounded good.

The manual has some good baseline settings. Personally I don't like the boost on. I got the biggest improvement by changing the speaker to a Celestion G12H30 and upgrading the tubes to JJ EL84s and Raytheon BP 12AX7s.

Mine actually came stock out of the box with JJ EL84's and a tube guard...I think they wised up and are starting to put them in newer models...I've only heard good things about those Celestion G12H30's but mixed reviews of the Vintage 30's...Never heard of Raytheon tubes...

With the neck pickup on my Strat or Tele:

JJ tubes, Weber Ceramic Blue Dog 75 watt
    Clean channel
    Boost off
    Volume between 3 and 4
    Bass 8
    Mid 0
    Treble 4

I use a CMATMODS for a little more smooth dirt and a Mojo Drive and Direct Drive for solos.

I had 2 of these, bought both new.

For the price, this is an okay amp.

I used the gain channel to have just the right amount of distortion
with the guitar vol on 10.

I have an OCD. I tried it on the clean channel but never got a real good tone.

It seemed that the pedal turned the sound muddy.
I tried all kind of EQ settings, nothing helped.

I had all new Groove Tubes during the tone testing.
    All else was stock.

Here's a Youtube of the OD channel ... I have everything at 3... (Prescence off)
The Master Volume Straight up ... Pre at 7 ... Post at 6 ...

With only a compressor in front of the Amp and a Boss DD-3 into the loop (two pedals)

This is what I do too! ES-335

"and all controls at noon with a humbucker guitar"
    "Oh, and boost *ALWAYS* on"

    I dont' agree here though
"I never cared for the dirty channel"

for me, I use it for violin a bunch too.. and what some people call the blue marvel's shortcomings for guitar, I believe is help for the Eviolin to have better voicing.

I like to put the Pre at 9 on the dirt channel.

The rest of the EQ i'm always messing around with, it sounds good at almost any EQ setting though.

I use my early Classic 30 as a clean platform for my big pedalboard, and set most EQ controls at Noon, except with the Bass around 2 or 3
o'clock. Changed to a Mojotone BV-30H speaker, and all JJ tubes. Never use the Boost button - too big of a mid hump.

I also installed a Tube Guard that I got directly from Peavey.

The chassis sure does get HOT after being on a long time. I wish there was a fan to cool the chassis. The amp has failed four times
due to heat-related breakage of wires internally.

What is it you don't like about the JJ's?
