Pedaltrain case mod

I am thinking of removing the foam on the inside of the top of my pedaltrain hardcase. It's been messing with my knobs, especially on my TIM, and I'm trying to get a Minstrel, which is not a low-profile pedal either. Everything is attached with industrial strength velcro, so I know the foam is not providing any stabilization.

Has anyone else done this? Warnings? Tips?

I removed the foam on mine and replaced it with a sheet of 1/2" foam that doesn't come down as far but still gives padding in case my board were to move around inside the case. I heated it up to help the adhesive loosen up and just took my time and it came out clean.

That plan sounds like it will work perfectly for you. Just don't breath in the hot air coming off of the foam or adhesive, it can easily kill you.
