I was thinking of picking up a PTjr or PT2 with the Pedal Power mountin rails, but was wondering if my Fuel Tank Jr. would fit well (or at all)?

Anyone got any first hand knowledge?

The Fuel Tank or the Fuel Tank junior? I've got the junior, no the full-sized.

If the junior doesn't fit with the brackets, is there at least enough room to zip-tie it and still fit the power cable?

    No modifications...

I cut a 3" X 3" piece of 3/4" plywood. I velcroed the plywood to the underside of the PTjr (to raise the FT up enough so the cables would clear the rail) then drilled some holes in the wood and zip-tied the FT to the wood.

    From the top...

Yeah you have to raise (or lower) the Fuel Tank Jr in there somehow. I did the same thing with a piece of wood. I used extra strong velcro and it was fine.

Is this for the modern pedaltrain juniors with the brackets or just the older ones?

Mine is a newer model with the mounting rails (which don't work with the FTjr)
