As soon as I got my pt hc, it struck me to toss my SFDR on top of it.

I just put my Mesa MKIII back into a combo cab and I'm a bit hesitant to do the same thing.
The Mesa weighs about 80 pounds.
Can the PT HC handle that weight?

It's a decent case but not ATA quality. I'd say no based on mine, but have not really tried it . I do use the case on my larger Trailer Trash one that way but its more HD.

Which case do you have? If it's the medium duty suitcase style that comes with the PT1, then the SFDR would be pushing it for sure. But if it's any of the others that are "ATA style" then I would not hesitate to put both the 80 lb. Mesa AND the SFDR on top and I'd never give it another thought.

Thanks guys.

Its a PT2 case (I actually didn't know the hard cases differed from one version of the PT to the next) and seems pretty sturdy - I didn't hesitate to put my SFDR on it. The SFDR has been sitting on there fine for a while with no sign of problems. In fact, my DR never sounded better!

Since I started this thread, I was jamming on the Mesa and having some tone problems (too dark and muddy sitting on the my carpet, too bright / not-smooth other places I tried) so I tossed it on the PT2 Hard Case and it seems completely fine. The Mesa sounds killer too.

Something about the case makes a great platform for tone - much better than the various coffee tables, platforms, desks and tilt-back dolly I have. Anyone else find this? Convenient too.
