Ordered a Classic 60's Series (Sunburst) Strat this afternoon from local mom and pop guitar shop. They met the MF online price ($799), so I ended up paying sales tax (local), but it will be set up right when I get it (hopefully this Sat), which is more than I could hope for with online retailer.

Was going to get Fender Brown Tolex case from local store, too (they were going to meet MF price), but he said he couldn't get me one till end of Feb, so bit the bullet and ordered it from MF.

I had tried the lacquer finish (mom and pop store had one in stock) but could NOT handle the tackiness of the nitro finish.

Got home and got a chance to do some playing. Fit and finish on this is WAY better than either my MIM Nashville Deluxe Tele or MIM Deluxe Roadhouse Strat.

Fret ends are smooth, no rough spots (frets) that I've found so far. I actually like the pickups on this as well or better than the Deluxe Roadhouse that has Texas Specials. Aged pickups covers/knobs look great on the light mint green pick-guard.

It came with a gig bag, but I had ordered a Fender (G&G) Brown Tolex HSC for it, so it's got that early 60's look going on.

This model comes with .10-.46 gauge strings. Everything else I have/play is .09-.42, so may end up switching to lighter gauge when the time comes.

Pics to follow, as other computer with camera software took a dump, so no way to download any pictures....here's a link to Fender site with picture.
