Pete Zorn, who worked extensively with Richard Thompson, has passed away after a fight with cancer. I'd seen him live a number of times and was always amazed at how good he was, and how he could switch between something like ten instruments over the course of the evening, and always sounding like he was at home. He seemed to play anything with strings, and a good selection of things you blew into. He was also a great backing vocalist.

    Here he is on sax.

Very sad to hear. His playing brought a smile to my face on more than one occasion. We're fortunate that he shared his talents with us. He will be missed. Condolences to his family, friends and other fans.

I just heard about this. Really too bad. He could sing, play guitar, play the horn(s). Man, what a loss!
