first CD I remember with that slick production that seemed to influence later 80s production? It translated well to CDs?

Love PG's work, saw him live in the 80's. I have not kept up with his musical career though - did he just stop recording and releasing new work? Would love to hear something new from him.

I saw him live at the Hollywood Bowl with Sting in 2016, he's still performing well & has a solid band. No word on new material in a while. There was an orchestral album & a soundtrack compilation but no new songs lately.

Here are a couple of my favorites he's put out since So.
This one is from a covers album he put out in 2010. Saw him do this with an orchestra.

    agreed.

I do love Plays Live as it showcases many of his best songs from the earlier part of his solo career ( before global super-stardom after So)
On The Air, I Go swimming, Intruder, Humdrum, DIY, Not One Of Us, Rhythm Of The Heat, I have The Touch - all brilliant.

Secret World Live, though, is absolutely stunning …..the live version of the song " Sectret World" from that record is my all time favourite version of any PG track ( though the live version of Digging In The Dirt runs it pretty close too )

it's actually the first PG album I owned and contains quite a few live versions of songs from PG 4 ( Security ) which is my favourite of his studio albums.

One of my favourite Live albums ever.

    Agreed - great live album!

If you haven't heard it, try to get the full version (with 16 songs). The first CD release of the album contained only 12 songs - the recent re-releases include the full 16 songs. I have an old pressing of the double LP version - sounds great.

If you combine his Genesis albums and the solo releases up through "So" or "Up", it's quite a spectacular run. Very few other artists can compete with this, especially when spanning multiple bands/solo. The only ones comparable (at least for me) may be Joy Division/New Order. From "Unknown Pleasures" all the way to "Substance" and "Technique" pretty much flawless.

I love So, but absolutely love Us. Seems to me like a greater album. I¨ve see him live in the Growing Up tour, it was mind blowing. It such a pity that it takes so long to get new material from him.
