I love the DVD Runnin' Down a Dream.
I've been looking for live concert videos that are of the quality of the stuff in the rockumentary, or the actual concerts featured.
I watched The Last DJ, but wasn't knocked out by it.
Anyone have suggestions for available concerts? Is there stuff available of the Dylan/Heartbreakers tour?
Thanks, Gouxman

Big +1 on the Soundstage - really great song selection and the sound/performance/production is top-notch.

Check out the online site of the German tv program Rockpalast . I have a concert they televised in 2002 I believe it was. Two and a half hours of classic rock played to perfection. I didn't know much about Tom Petty prior to this but a huge fan since. I also never saw so many vintage guitars being played during a show. Also made me realise what a class guitar player Mike Campbell is. As far as I know all the Rockpalast concerts are now available on DVD.

The bad news:

The best live Petty stuff is from the many tv appearances the band has done over the years and is only available as bootlegs.
Most of the good bits in "Runnin Down a Dream" are from such broadcasts, like the BBC or Germany's "Rockpalast" show.

The good news:

It's all available for free via bit torrent if you sign up at
http://www.dimeadozen.org/, http://www.thetradersden.org and a few other sites.
Sign up, download and install uTorrent, and start downloading.

Don't know if it's available on DVD yet (I converted my VHS to DVD a while ago) but Pack up The Plantation is vintage TP&TH.
