I've always had my phaser placed after dirt and was pretty happy with it. But saw Burgerman666's vid with the phaser before his dirt pedals and it sounded awesome!

Just want opinions on the placement you guys take...

I prefer the more pronounced sound that you get with the phaser after dirt or in the effects loop.

i use my TC XII-stage after pedal distortions, but before amp-distortions.

    but, flangers?
i like them very slow, not very wide, in front of any pedal-distortions.

I like a fuzz > phaser> dirt box, best of both worlds.

I like the Small Stone before, but the Phase 90 after or it's too subtle.

I kept going back and forth on this and in the end I went with before.

The Phase 90 is a little noisy though before dirt. I don't recall if placing it after helped in that dept.

I have generally run them before, but I'm not using one after on one board.

Phasers are a sort of filter modulation effect, so like Wah's they sound great before gain pedals. However, because they're modulation effects they often work after dirt as well, like Tremolo or Chorus.

Well that isn't very punk, is it?
I run my Small Stone before dirt, but it varies phaser to phaser.

same here. mostly use phase > dirt for a more subtle effect but it's nice to occasionally hit it with a fuzz for a Hendrixy freak out

flangers I always put after dirt, never thought to try them before...

    Before.

Always done it, tried it after, didn't like it. I like the way that a light overdrive (what I use most of the time) can muddy the sound up a bit (you know what I mean...), and I like the way that it sounds completely over the top with significant gain on said dirt pedal, even though the actual sound of the phaser is less pronounced. Sounds good. :aok
