Who's going? It's always nice to meet fellow TGP'ians in person.

I expect to be there Saturday (Sunday's also possible as I'll be crashing nearby at a college buddy's place Sat. night), though I may not make it up from No. VA until 2 or so.

I'll likely go. It's a fun day for me and the kids and usually meet up with one of my high school friends that now lives in NJ.

Sure wish they hadn't moved it from Valley Forge about 10 years now. It's about 45 more minutes driving for me, and Oaks is a pretty drab place, just a big square room. I haven't been in years, it just doesn't seem like it's worth the extra effort anymore.

I can sort of understand your feelings on the driving time (sort of - myself, I'll be driving up from Northern Virginia) but, seriously, you really judge the event on the shape and perceived "drabness" of the venue (for me, it's about seeing friends and the guitars - and I also attended several Valley Forge shows)?

They had to move the show. The old Valley Forge location is now a casino.

No, I don't judge the event on the shape and perceived "drabness" of the venue. I simply mentioned it.

That's cool.

Honestly, I never even noticed what you call "drab." The building's exterior and interior are meaningless to me for this kind of event. What is meaningful? Coming home with this c. 1957 Supro-built/relabeled killer-sounding bakelite lap steel for $150, for example.

We used to go too. I drove up From Annapolis and my friends drove down from Boston. We are all lefties. We brought our own guitars and rented a few hotel rooms. The show mostly sucked for us, same vendors with the same overpriced stuff you see up and down the east coast. we stopped doing it 2 years ago and decided to fly to GearFest instead. Much better time !!
