TJ's music in Chandler, Discount music in Mesa. THe Guitar Gallery in Scottsdale. THese are the coolest stores in Phoenix.

AZ music is still there and Ziggy's is a cool shop, and has cool stuff from time to time.

Rainbow in Tucson may be the most variety and probably is coolest shop in the state. Lots of great high end guitars and amps

CaveCreek guitars is another cool shop Highend Fender, Zinky, Collings Martin to name a few.

Don't forget Bizarre Guitar on 7th Ave in Phoenix if you want to check out some nice LP's. Bob has the best selection in town, and his prices have always been better than Guitar Dumpster's.

Rainbow Guitars in Tucson is my favorite store in the state, but since I live in Phoenix, I go to Bizarre Guitar on 7th Ave from time to time, when I can.

In Flagstaff, both Custom Sound Instruments on S. San Francisco street and AMP , about three blocks away on RT 66 downtown are fine stores.

Not to start a flame war or anything, but I wouldn't give Rainbow a nickel of my money. They are a local Orange dealer. I went in there one day, first time in there so they didn't know me. I was going to spend around $3000 dollars on a Thunderverb 50 and 2-12 cab, but I couldn't get anyone to acknowledge my existence. I must have been invisible that day huh? Anyway I'll spend my money somewhere they will be nice to me.

Yeah Adrian and Steve have always been good to me at Guitars Etc.
edit: And I would be remiss if I didn't mention Mike the guitar tech also.
