    1. Nobody, even the player, ever sees the caps unless servicing the guitar.
    2. Caps of equal value will do the same job....search for threads.

I just did a cap shootout for my strat...had wires with alligator clips attached hanging out of my guitar...I ended up with some .1 chicklet caps made by Luxe...all the caps in the pic were not expensive but it was fun and revealing to do...

Ended up with a .05uf in my tele...

There is a subtle but audible difference even with tone on 10 which is even more apparent with drive boxes...

$15 for a cap :omg yikes... I'd have to agree with Tone-Terrific unless they are some odd value you're wasting your money.

I've never dabbled with the phonebook caps but I have to pick some up at some point. I have a box filled with caps of all sorts.

+1...Even though ebay ad discounts them...the Luxe's won my shootout as well...the difference was pretty noticeable...

Hey, it's only 1/10 the cost of a Gibson bumblebee reissue! Stock up.

Are you saying there's no need to look in the 'Phonebook' for great tone? ;)

It is not an issue with these but the value is awefully high.
