Looking for shots of newer goldtops oxidizing.

I know the historic ones will green over time, but I'm not sure about the regular USA line.

I have a couple 2012's and I'm wondering if I shouldn't hope for some greening over time..or just forget about it.

My sweat doesn't seem very acidic, it will probably take me forever to get any kind of natural aging. I can beat and thrash and sweat on a guitar for years and they still look pretty new, my hardware doesn't tarnish and I get crazy long life out of a set of strings.

Anyways....pics if you got 'em, please.

I've had several goltops than none of them greened.

'99 Classic...16 years old, not necessarily new but its Gibson USA. There is oxidation on a few finish dings, but that's all.

In order to get the greening, the nitro has to expose the underlying gold. I.e., if the nitro craps, or the nitro is rubbed off, the gold will start to turn green. If you aren't wearing down the nitro, it won't happen.

You could run some razor blades on the top, like the aging guys do, which would let air and moisture get into the finish.

Is the new paint even the same as the old paint?

My old 72 Deluxe went pretty green, but my 96 R4 shows no green at all.
Weird thing is it checked a lot over the summer when it was in storage during a move (we have a relatively hot summer), but the checking all goes lengthways along the body, not across it.
