Goal: crsipy, boingy, Strat-like wound strings and smooth but articlulate upper strings with minimal plinkiness to relieve the cause of that grating, topend harshness on overdrive. i.e. cut the glassiniess on the top without muting the strings open sound. Solution? a) a pup with dual coils only under the plain stings? stacked hb style b) remove half the slugs and magnet from a regular hb? Or, has someone already marketed another the cure for this?
