I have an American Standard Tele (2 single coils). I just replaced the bridge pickup with a lindy Fralin Blues Special and left the twisted Tele pickup in the neck. Once install both pickups sound great by themselves but in the middle position there is no bottom end and a big loss in volume. They sound very out of phase.

    Here is how I wired:
Bridge - white lead wired to pickup selector / black lead and bridge ground to back of volume pot.
Neck - white lead to pickup selector switch / yellow and black lead to back of volume pot.

Any ideas on what this could be?

You want to move this to another area of TGP like the "Luthiers Corner" to get replies. I believe this area is intended for demo videos and sound clips.
