    Hi everybody!

This is my first post here. I've been a lurker for a while,
and enjoyed the great info and the lucious pictures of the many fine custom instruments.
Well finally I have pictures that I hope some of you might find interesting.
The basic info about the Duke is available on the Ruokangas site,
in addition my Lilith has the following:

    - extra light woods (total weight ~3,2kg)
    - stainless steel frets
    - titanium saddles
    - Buzz Feiten Tuning System
    - Ruokangas/Haussel Fusion pickups
    - bridge pickup moved ~1cm further from the bridge
    - custom color "Brown Velvet" ;)
    - custom inlays (Lilith theme): nameplate, black moon, pentacle
    hmm... that's about it

After waiting for six months I'm way happy with the result.
She's resonating, responsive, plays suberbly, sounds fabulous,
clear but warm and in tune allover etc. etc.
I've A/B tested with my '92 Gibson LesPaul Classic both acoustically and
amplified and while the Gibson is perfectly good guitar I know now that she has
no use for me anymore. There's really no competition, of course the Duke is
twice as costly but even then: two mediocre guitars won't make it for one superlative, IMHO.

Enjoy the photos! I'll put a few here directly and links for the rest 'cause they're VERY large in size.
Naturally the color and figures of the top change depending of the angle and the light.
I didn't succeed in taking a "perfect" photo.

    Thanks for reading!

Just beautiful, just my sort of colour.
Looks like Fins are good at more than just motorcycle enduro riding!

    Welcome to the gearpage.

Did you have this guitar built with the Spanish Cedar and Arctic Birch combo for woods? Beautiful guitar BTW!

    Thanks gents!

Yes, Shane S, it's the Spanish Cedar and Arctic Birch combo. It works! I asked Mr. Ruokangas to choose the lightest woods he had available. It's now on par or even a little lighter than my Fender Strat, very nice for a Les Paul type guitar.

Ordering with custom color was exciting to say the least . It's difficult to describe shades of color in words in an email but the process was very cool and the end result everything I had hoped for. I went to see the guitar when the lacquering was done and Mr. Ruokangas even offered to start from the beginning if the color wasn't true to my "vision". That's an attitude I can respect.

Yup mouldynudger... motorcycles, rally, formula one or making guitars - Finns are on the top of the game! :D

Congratulations on a VERY nice Duke from a fellow Duke owner. Juha is a great luthier and a great person. That color is really amazing and I think you're pictures are great. I know how hard it is to capture the true beauty of arctic birch on picture.

I'm sure you will love you're Duke as much as i love mine :)

Damn nice guitar! Juha makes some really nice stuff. Can't wait to see them at NAMM.

Any think it looks like a Baker RF?

Juha been making these guitars since before there was any Baker RF. I was toying with the idea of a spruce top alder Duke when i ordered mine. But since i wanted a good rock/LP tone as well (and liked the look of flame Birch:p ) i went for a Duke Special with Deluxe Styling. This is the result:

I'm happy, a truly great guitar :dude

What an amazingly beautiful guitar - really speaks to me. Thanks for sharing. Wow! That 5th fret inlay has sort of an aurora borealis appeal. As a fellow arctic dweller, I dig it! The vegetation in the background reminds me of my home.

    NICE AXE!!!

Thanks, I'm glad you guys like my guitar also!

Anders: I've seen your Blue Beauty and even heard some clips, awesome, heja!

2x6L6: You have a keen insight! I had indeed some Lapponia imagery in my mind when we planned the color and theme with Juha R. It's really beautiful up North right now when the leaves show all different colours and the air is brisk! Also this year there have been a great deal of Aurora Borealis activity.
