About to get a mid 80s G&L shredder refinished. Hot Pink Pearl is my top choice. Reason im asking is because, more than likely, i'll play this guitar for about 6 months and will then look to sale it. How do u think the pink color choice will affect resale? Also, will i look old and outdated playing it?:roll

Unless its a shell pink looking fiesta red Fender, it will affect resale. I would assume you are taking that into consideration upon purchase? If you pay less for it, you'll have less in it.

Hot Pink Pearl sounds like a quintessential 80s shredder guitar colour to me: bear in mind the kind of player you'll be looking to attract when you look to sell.

Yeah and it has a Kahler 2300 trem on it which, to a lot of people, already hurts resale.

If you know you are going to resell it in 6mo, why bother to have it refinished?

I did a few gigs with a 65 fe-fined pink Duo Sonic that played and sounded killer.
Band-wifes like the fact I was in touch with my feminin side, hard to outgrow that. It is now black. lol

Lighter blues are probably best for re-sale. IMO

Colors like pink and surf green are controversial colors on guitars...you either love 'em or hate 'em. I happen to LOVE them, so I said YES in the poll. If ability to sell figures prominently in your decision, its probably better to go with a color that won't alienate so many people. Mary Kaye is pretty neutral.

    That said.....GO FOR HOT PINK!!!
