I just read the sticky about using Paypal gift for sale transactions. Very well done! That goes a long way in protecting TGP members! Kudos!

Nice job on the PPG issue. But what if a buyer unsolicited offers PPG? Will we get a warning for accepting it then?

Thank you Mods for finally putting an end to PPG! It's the right thing to do and that is always best.

It was already addressed in the thread about the decision itself, but essentially "if you're dumb enough to offer to buy without protection, that's your baby". Paraphrasing a little bit. You can't ask for a buyer to use PPG in the ad or in a PM, but they can offer if they want.

Threaded discussion: would be an improvement imo. Examples exist old and new, from Usenet to Reddit.

Downvotes: tread carefully. Lots of successful fora spend a lot of time focusing specifically on this, i.e. devoting time and money to a complex social puzzle, because poorly-planned voting systems can wreak havoc on a community. One I like in particular is Hacker News, which only grants downvote capabilities after earning significant amounts of site karma. If you're going to keep it simple, usually 'keep it positive,' (i.e. no downvoting) is sufficient, and let moderators cull inappropriate and off-topic posts.

It would be great if TGP would stop trying to plant a bunch of tracking cookies on my computer. Every time I visit, adnxs.com tries to run 9 scripts in my browser. No other forum where I am a member behaves in such an intrusive way. Thank you!

Considering what inflation is, that's kind of a cut in itself. :)
