I watched the documentary on Netflix last night and was blown away. I always knew there were some great songs but I was always turned off by Yoko. Lennon's songs and approach to stripping everything down to his voice and the song are amazing and brilliant. Interesting to see Ringo say he didn't remember Phil Spector doing anything to deserve Producer credit. What was the Beatles' fascination with Spector? Even George hired him for All Things Must Pass? Does anyone know?

...maybe it was payback for how Spector helped them out on Let It Be....all of The Beatles are on record of loving Spector's "wall of sound" production technique...no one wanted to touch Let It Be...there was miles and miles of tape to go through, and to boot, who wanted to put up with Fab's egos? Don't get me wrong, I love The Beatles, but during the Let It Be sessions, they were indivdually and collectively in turmoil!!!

Even Ringo poked a little fun with an imitation during the program :)

That's not exactly true. Glyn Johns put the Get Back album together- which (from what I've heard) is pretty much a lot of what Let It Be Naked turned out to be like.

For what I hear in the POB stuff- it's more Steve Albini than Phil Spector-

Listening to all of George's work- you really hear the influence Phil Spector's production ideas had on George.
