Is it anything close to the XTC blue channel when the gain is maxed?

I don't know, havent played the XTC. The Duende was/is Da Shiz n Da Bomb! Rienhard said its more like the Shiva tonally. It's 18wt, 2 6v6, channel switching, blendable channels, reverb and trem. Greg V was demoing the thing through a Gold Top LP, straight through.
All I can say is I have NEVER heard an amp sound SO amazing, and versatile straight in. Honestly, I have never played a Shiva, I know they are all the rage, and I have had bad gas for one, but I'm leary of 60 or 80watts they come in, I just don't need that power. So, I told Chris this morning "I'm almost afraid of hearing that new Bogner, I think I might not be able to contain myself".....sure enough, a few hours later, I nearly soiled myself hearing it and playing through it.
If it sounds as good tomorrow, I will be auctioning my body parts to get cash for one. :)
Oh, and I might add that it's rather intimidating playing through the thing when Greg V, Reinhold and Ed DeGenaro are standing around, geez, really answers the question "you know you are a total hack when....."

Yeah, that would be enough for me to turn into guitar Judas.

"What? Me? Play guitar? Noooooooo! I mean, I like guitars, but I've never played one"

I think my Metropolis might have found a soulmate. They didn't say when they would start shipping, did they?

Oh no, I hope it's not like the Shiva. I was hoping for a more "Metropolis" feel.

It seemed like it had more than ehough clean headroom. There were two controls labeled Body and Air. They were very effective in morphing the amp into many tonal areas. It could go from gritty tweedy type tones to more jangley one and in between. I am really impressed with the variety that Greg dialed in over the course of 5 minutes.

Chazmania and I did not get a chance to find out what speaker was in there but it sounded really punchy and warm. I will look today and report back if no one else does first.

Been reading about this amp for a couple weeks now. I love the blue ch. on my XTC too. I would be cool if the new amp does that, but I need a fair amount of headroom for clean even in low volume situations. Not so sure an 18 watter will be able to hang. Looking for a small back up head to maybe replace my Maverick. Thought this might fit the bill.
Can't wait to hear it. Thanks for the report.

For me, the clean channel of the Uberschall combined with the blue channel of the XTC in plexi mode w/ boost engaged...if I could get those two sounds in one amp, I would be playing Bogner. :)

OK ladies...:moon..it was gasly painful day again today. The Duende sounded just as killer today as it did yesterday (my wallet was hoping it wouldn't). The amp had chime, girth, growl, deep character. It's hard to describe, we all use similar terms but they may mean something different to another persons ears. Suffice to say, if you already like Bogners, and don't need 60+ watts, this thing slayed me. I think he said shipping in 3 months or so. I'm sold. :AOK

Here are pics! (hope this works, still figuring this out).
