I really need your advice on a serious problem. I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs: If the phone rings and I answer, the caller hangs up. She goes out with 'the girls' a lot. I try to stay awake to look out for her when she comes home, but I usually fall asleep. Anyway, last night about midnight, I hid in the shed behind the boat. When she came home, she got out of someone's car buttoning her blouse, then she took her panties out of her purse and slipped them on. It was at that moment, crouched behind the boat, that I noticed a hairline crack in the outboard motor mounting bracket. Is that something I can weld, or do I need to replace the whole bracket?

Sell the boat, take the money, go get some hookers and blow and have a party at the house while she's out with her boyfriend...

A weld should be stronger than the bracket itself. YMMV ;)

Did you begin to mistreat the boat at any point in the moments afterward?

    Displacement

Have ever had a really bad day at work and then gone home and taken out your frustration on family and friends? Then you have experienced the ego defense mechanism of displacement. Displacement involves taking out our frustrations, feelings, and impulses on people or objects that are less threatening. Displaced aggression is a common example of this defense mechanism. Rather than express

our anger in ways that could lead to negative consequences (like arguing with our boss), we instead express our anger towards a person or object that poses no threat (such as our spouse, children, or pets).

    H-m-m-m-m...
Probably better replace the whole bracket - 'cause remember: with prolonged use, "cracks" only get bigger...

    Heh-heh-heh...

Why not ask your wife if her boyfriend can fix the bracket? :)

    Sorry,

She told me you guys were having some rocky times...

She NEVER mentioned anything about the boat issue.

My condolences...I'm at a loss here.

Hope you can fix the bracket without too much problems.
