    Hi
need to explore all the options available today regarding ultra-choppy, very on-off sounding like, tremolo pedals...

    So far Ive tried:

    Hummingbird
    Valcoder (mini)
    vintage Vox clone
    Flint
    Sonar
    Black Cat Mini Trem

    Please keep 'em coming
    Thank you very much

I suggest at least trying out a Wampler Latitude deluxe - maybe the most tweakable tremolo I've seen and it can certainly get a very choppy effect if you want it to...

Diamond does that, with some nice flexibility.
1/2 time, random, single, double, triple rhythms.
Has a volume control too, so you could boost it or cut your signal as needed.

Supa Trem has hard/soft switch. Kick it into hard and turn the mix knob all the way up and it will stutter like mad.

Valcoder kicked my Supa-Trem to the curb. If I were buying today, I’d get the new Subdecay.

I bet digital stuff will do a true squarewave/completely silent well. Maybe look into the TC Pipeline or Source Audio Vertigo.

The Hummingbird is the most inspirational pedal I've tried in recent memory. It is really a joy to play.

I guess OP means anything w/ a square wave option? Prob most trems with more than just minimal settings will have it.

I have a Drifter tremolo that does it. One of my fave pedals, but sadly got voted off island since its not used much for current stuff.

My boss phaser also has a square wave trem setting. Which is getting used on my board :)

Vox repeat percussion style trems (EQD Hummingbird, Cbread Valcoder) have a very sharp/steep wave shape, which gives you a 'musical' choppy sound rather than strictly going on/off.

The Diamond Chop mode is literally on/off. Cbread mini Valco is too. Can't remember if the EHX Pulsar does a deep square wave rather than on/off. Optical trems get pretty close. The Mad Prof Mellow sounds a bit like the mini valco at extreme depth.
