    Hey Friends,

I just picked up a couple of BF Fenders and I've been plinking away like a demon keeping me away from the computer. (good thing)

These speakers came in the cab with my BF Pro Reverb Amp that WAKARUSA is tuning up.

First the 12M6-7 on the spider. I can't find a reference for -7

Second I'm thinking its a recone or re - dope can these numbers help differentiate whether the whole cone was replaced?

The Cone has printed W5330 with a 217 or 21Z underneath? (Weber?)

Also on both speaker cones it is written in pencil SR001

I'm wondering if it is AlNiCo or Ceramic as well

    Thanks

I have 12L6-11 in my Pro Reverb.

I'm not sure what the dash number designates. Do you have overall pics of the front and back?

Oxfords,12th week of '67.They are ceramic and were reconed.I believe the "W" stands for Walden? a cone mfg.The 12M series is a 40 watt speaker and handles a bit more power than the 12L(30 watts).

Close, it's Waldom. They have been the main supplier of generic recone parts for many years.

I could never understand the wind at all....

No worries. I know it's a pain to go through all that. I was just wondering about the ribbing, etc. Maybe the dash number has to do with cone type or something (or it may be a somewhat arbitrary number, which would totally drive us nuts). But if it's reconed, then no guarantee whether it was done like the original.

The only thing I've been able to find is that the dash number is an iteration of that model. Leo didn't have anything on speaker companies -- they used anything and everything they had in stock to keep the production line going, despite the fact a certain set of parts was initially approved by the customer.
As was mentioned, W is Waldom in Chicago, now called Image Communications. They are slowly dying, though, and don't seem to be re-ordering many of the parts once they are out of stock.

The W5330 is a standard 8 rib, 1-1/2" surround fold cone that is used on a ton of speakers, including one version of the Chicago Jensen C12N.

Hey Thanks Ted and MB everyone for bringing me up to speed on these.

After the go ahead on the Pro Reverb from Wakarusa (Todd) I'll give them a good spanking when I plug it in batter up!.
