OD-3 is better, IMO, on combo amps because of the bass it gives. The SD-1 is for bigger amps

Always loved the SD-1 and was not fully aware of the OD-3. Finally tried it and I have been hooked ever since. OD-3 is the best Boss ever!

From what I've heard I overwhelming prefer the OD-3, though I don't currently own either.

I've owned 6 SD-1's and 4 OD-3's. They're different, and I like having both available. However, if you backed me into a corner I'd pick the OD-3, as it's more open and full range.

The OD-3 is my favorite dirt pedal out there. I do also like the SD-2 and SD-1 to though. They all are completely different beasts. My all Boss board has all three of them on it at the moment.

Just got my OD-3 recently after playing a SD-1 for years. Where has it been all my life?! Different flavors definitely, I like both. OD-3 for main drive, SD-1 for boost.

How are you guys using the OD-3? As an overdrive or boost? I've always considered the SD-1 to be a boost that brings in the TS-type EQ which is great for leads. I've fallen in love with a Barber Gain Changer and let go of the CDD. The CDD will be replaced with an SD-1 for the purpose described above to boost the GC for leads. It works very well for this purpose.
